SEO Executive - AI Search & Organic Growth

Job Description

SEO today is very different from the SEO practiced eight years ago. Ranking a website is no longer limited to placing keywords, publishing routine articles, building backlinks, and preparing monthly reports.

People now discover information through Google Search, AI Overviews, conversational AI platforms, local search results, videos, social media platforms, and other answer-driven experiences. Search engines have become much better at understanding meaning, context, entities, expertise, user intent, and brand credibility.

At Webindia Master, we are looking for an SEO Executive who understands this evolution and wants to work at the intersection of traditional SEO, AI-powered search, and measurable business growth.

We need someone who can think beyond a standard SEO checklist. The ideal candidate should understand how customers search, why certain sources earn trust, and how to create strategies that improve visibility wherever people look for information.

This role is ideal for a curious, analytical, and growth-oriented professional who asks meaningful questions, challenges outdated practices, tests new ideas, and converts insights into measurable results.

We are not looking for someone who repeats the same SEO activities every month. We are looking for someone who can understand a business, identify genuine opportunities, and take ownership of its long-term organic growth.

Key Responsibilities

SEO and AI Search Strategy

  • Understand each client's business model, services, target audience, competitors, and commercial objectives before preparing an SEO strategy.
  • Develop strategies for visibility across traditional search, local search, rich results, and AI-generated search experiences.
  • Research search intent, conversational queries, customer questions, related entities, and every stage of the buyer journey.
  • Create topical maps and content clusters that build genuine subject authority instead of disconnected keyword-focused content.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to become trusted, useful, and authoritative sources for users, search engines, and AI platforms.
  • Monitor search algorithm updates, AI search developments, and changing user behavior.
  • Convert industry changes into practical experiments, recommendations, and implementation plans.
  • Develop customized SEO strategies for service-based businesses, e-commerce websites, local businesses, and international projects.

Research and Opportunity Discovery

  • Conduct detailed keyword, entity, topic, competitor, content gap, and SERP feature research.
  • Evaluate opportunities based on search intent, business relevance, competition, conversion potential, and commercial value.
  • Study competitor strategies to understand how they earn rankings, mentions, citations, backlinks, and authority.
  • Identify customer questions and content gaps that can be addressed through expert insights, case studies, original research, and practical examples.
  • Review customer reviews, online communities, forums, and sales feedback to understand real user language and concerns.
  • Identify emerging search trends before they become highly competitive.
  • Prioritize SEO opportunities based on expected business impact, implementation effort, and long-term value.

Content Strategy and Optimization

  • Prepare detailed content briefs covering target audience, search intent, page objectives, content structure, entities, supporting evidence, and desired user actions.
  • Collaborate with content writers and subject matter experts to create original, accurate, and user-focused content.
  • Improve existing content by enhancing clarity, structure, depth, internal linking, freshness, authorship, and trust signals.
  • Optimize page titles, headings, meta descriptions, images, anchor text, and website content naturally without keyword stuffing.
  • Plan service pages, landing pages, location pages, blogs, FAQs, comparison pages, and case studies.
  • Ensure published content delivers genuine value beyond what already exists on competing websites.
  • Create content that answers important customer questions while encouraging deeper website engagement.
  • Recommend whether outdated pages should be updated, merged, redirected, or removed.

Responsible Use of AI

  • Use AI tools to assist with research, topic discovery, content planning, workflow automation, and data analysis.
  • Apply human judgment, fact-checking, and editorial review to every AI-assisted output.
  • Verify facts, statistics, examples, and recommendations before publication.
  • Identify and improve generic, repetitive, or inaccurate AI-generated content through original expertise and research.
  • Build efficient AI-assisted workflows without compromising originality, quality, or brand voice.
  • Understand that AI supports strategic thinking but cannot replace human expertise.
  • Avoid relying on mass-generated, unverified AI content as an SEO strategy.

Technical SEO

  • Conduct technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexability, rendering, canonicalization, redirects, duplicate content, status codes, XML sitemaps, and robots directives.
  • Review website architecture, URL structures, crawl paths, internal linking, and orphan pages.
  • Identify mobile usability, page experience, and Core Web Vitals issues.
  • Understand how JavaScript rendering impacts crawling and indexing.
  • Coordinate with developers to explain issues, prioritize fixes, and verify implementations after deployment.
  • Recommend and validate structured data according to Schema.org and search engine guidelines.
  • Review pagination, faceted navigation, filtering, and crawl budget optimization for large and e-commerce websites.
  • Support Local SEO, E-commerce SEO, and International SEO initiatives, including hreflang implementation and regional targeting.
  • Monitor indexing behavior and investigate why important pages are not being crawled or indexed.
  • Support IndexNow implementation and other search engine discovery methods where appropriate.

Authority Building and Digital PR

  • Develop ethical, relevance-focused authority-building strategies instead of chasing a fixed number of backlinks.
  • Identify opportunities for expert contributions, partnerships, digital PR, citations, and authoritative industry mentions.
  • Evaluate backlink opportunities based on topical relevance, editorial quality, trust, traffic, and long-term value.
  • Monitor harmful, spammy, or irrelevant backlinks and recommend corrective action when necessary.
  • Strengthen the client's digital presence through consistent business, brand, and entity information.
  • Recognize that modern authority is built through expertise, trust, reputation, references, and genuine brand demand rather than backlinks alone.
  • Avoid outdated SEO practices such as low-quality directory submissions, automated backlinks, and spam comment links.

Analytics, Reporting, and Experimentation

  • Use Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Bing Webmaster Tools, and professional SEO platforms to monitor website performance.
  • Measure qualified organic traffic, non-brand visibility, conversions, enquiries, revenue contribution, rich-result coverage, and AI search visibility.
  • Prepare reports explaining what changed, why it changed, what was learned, and the recommended next steps.
  • Focus on meaningful insights instead of vanity metrics.
  • Communicate SEO performance honestly and transparently.
  • Create hypotheses and conduct controlled SEO experiments wherever practical.
  • Investigate ranking and traffic changes logically instead of assuming every fluctuation is algorithm-related.
  • Track implementation progress and follow up with content, development, project management, and client-facing teams until important recommendations are completed.
  • Connect SEO performance with real business outcomes such as leads, enquiries, sales, and revenue growth.
Key Skills
  • At least 2 years of practical experience managing SEO campaigns and websites.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, internal linking, and ethical authority building.
  • Awareness of how AI-powered search is changing customer journeys, content discovery, and performance measurement.
  • Ability to think in terms of topics, entities, search intent, customer journeys, and business outcomes not just keywords.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence in analyzing data from multiple platforms and converting insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to prepare clear content briefs, SEO audits, observations, and performance reports.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and content management systems such as WordPress.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with content writers, developers, designers, and project coordinators.
  • Curiosity, ownership, and the discipline to validate assumptions before presenting conclusions.
  • Willingness to recommend improved approaches whenever existing processes are not delivering meaningful results.

Tools You Should Be Comfortable With

  • Google Search Console
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Trends and Google Keyword Planner
  • Bing Webmaster Tools
  • Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar SEO platforms
  • Screaming Frog or another technical website crawling tool
  • Looker Studio and spreadsheet applications
  • PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse
  • Rich Results Test and Schema validation tools
  • URL Inspection and indexing tools
  • AI tools used responsibly for research, analysis, and workflow support

You do not need to know every SEO tool available in the market. We value your ability to interpret data, choose the right methodology, and reach meaningful conclusions more than the number of tools listed on your résumé.

Desired Candidate Profile

The Mindset We Are Looking For

  • Ask "Why?" before beginning any SEO activity.
  • Prefer evidence, testing, and experimentation over assumptions.
  • Connect every SEO task with a genuine customer need or business objective.
  • Remain curious about how search behavior, AI, and technology continue to evolve.
  • Continuously learn and proactively share useful insights with the team.
  • Maintain high-quality work while managing time efficiently.
  • Present recommendations confidently with logical reasoning and supporting data.
  • Take ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
  • Feel comfortable testing new ideas and learning from unsuccessful experiments.
  • Understand the difference between using AI intelligently and depending on it without verification.

What We Do Not Want

  • A checklist-only approach where the same SEO activities are repeated for every client.
  • Keyword stuffing, copied content, or mass-produced AI-generated pages without quality review.
  • Low-quality directory submissions, spam comments, or backlinks created only to achieve monthly targets.
  • Reports containing numbers without meaningful analysis, insights, or recommendations.
  • Guaranteed ranking promises or risky shortcuts that may harm a client's website.
  • An SEO approach that ignores user experience, reputation, conversions, and business growth.
  • Someone who waits for instructions for every small task instead of researching and proposing practical solutions.

How Success Will Be Evaluated

  • Growth in qualified non-brand organic traffic and search visibility.
  • Improvement in enquiries, leads, sales, and other client-specific conversions.
  • Better crawl health, indexation, website architecture, and technical SEO performance.
  • Increased visibility for commercially valuable topics and search opportunities.
  • Improved presence across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery platforms.
  • Stronger content quality, topical authority, structured data implementation, and brand credibility.
  • Timely execution of agreed SEO priorities and recommendations.
  • Effective collaboration with content, development, and project management teams.
  • Actionable reporting supported by meaningful experiments and documented learning.
  • High levels of client confidence, satisfaction, and long-term retention.
